A Steel and Glass House

Chicago, IL  |  1981

Our first client dreamed of a light-filled and private home that took advantage of the conveniences of the city but possessed all the amenities of a suburban house.

A contrast to the adjacent brick façades, the building is a timeless, clear and simple visual expression of structure, transparency, and light.

The light-filled comfortable residence possesses all the amenities of a suburban house and the design creates a strong indoor-outdoor connection, with private space and ample daylight.

A pioneering house built on an urban renewal site, the home became an inspiration for further development in the community.
