Making Architecture Exhibition
Roger Williams University - Bristol, RI
MAKING ARCHITECTURE explores one of our studio’s core beliefs that through making, we promote a deeper discussion which positively impacts our design.
Organized into three zones, we ask the larger questions with which the profession is currently grappling, while potential insights are illustrated through K+S projects. In past, present + future we explore a series of unique technical challenges and specific solutions demonstrated through models, photographs, and drawings, and in the third zone, we highlight notable, constructed projects, that reconcile both technical issues and answer the larger questions.
Throughout this exhibit, we communicate the following viewpoint:
Asking the right questions establishes the foundation for creative and innovative solutions
Embracing failure as a means to success
Architecture has an obligation to express society’s hopes and aspirations
Listening to and engaging all constituents inspires design opportunities
Architecture must not limit itself to only technical or social solutions, it must be considered as an art
Architecture is about MAKING
