The client’s wish was not to have a home in the sky; rather, they wanted an urban apartment, where efficiency was maximized and maintenance minimized.
Just as the design of an airplane fuselage is dictated by aerodynamics and internal requirements, so the molded surfaces of this apartment were developed. The highly defined program accounts not only for the precise living environment, but also for the very shape and form, allowing for ease of movement while accentuating the speed of their edges. No embellishments were required in this space, where the slightest move or change in light establishes new compositions of form and color.
