This award-winning bank serves as a retail trust facility that also fulfills the office requirements for trust officers and investors. The retail banking area was to recall the spatial qualities of earlier grand banking halls.
After careful study of the acoustics and light reflections, a gently arched wing of curly maple was designed, stretching the length of the space. This arch allows light to be evenly dispersed and sounds to be softened, creating the required privacy necessary for business. A core of conference rooms, elegantly framed with polished brass, separate the public banking areas from the offices.
A natural palette of honey-colored wood and Greek white and deep green marble was selected to express the traditional heritage and strength this hundred-year-old Midwestern institution that now serves the dynamic environment of Los Angeles.
