Hubbard Street Dance
Chicago, IL | 2006
To reflect its stature in the cultural community and display its artistry for the aesthetic benefit of its community, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago (HSDC), the city's leading contemporary dance institution, completed a major renovation of the façade of its facility, located in West Loop of Chicago. The building's dynamic new exterior features an undulating perforated metal screen above a glass storefront and masonry walls clad in yellow tile.
This new facade is designed to reflect the vibrancy of this organization, the energy that HSDC presents on stage, as well as the company's vitality within the Chicago cultural community. During such a transitional moment in the West Loop’s development, the project was instrumental in setting off a tone of growth and revitalization for the emerging neighborhood.
